Anti-Islamicism [anti new political Islam - Ed] is starting to run
rife. So I just wanted to take a
moment to write down what
I perceive to be the issues regarding Islam and then consider, why we
are experiencing what we are experiencing today and how we move
forward.
Just like any other religion, its holy book is open to
interpretation and have been altered [often in translation - Ed] by
man over the ages, they are in essence truth, but in detail perverted
by man. I believe this to be true of all religion that has been
organised by man and used by man to manipulate others.
Why
Anti-Islam I
================
Well as far as I can tell there
is really only one problem with Islam.
Islam is perceived as
a threat to all non Muslims, this is substantiated by the teachings
of the faith calling for things such as the killing of all infidels.
Is this true?
Well it is open to interpretation, yes
it is and no it isn't, there are plenty of references to respecting
other peoples religion and so on, which are incompatible with the
"kill all infidels" line.
We can find quotes from
the Christian Bible that are outrageous, it is about interpretation.
e.g. "If two men, a man and his countryman, are struggling
together, and the wife of one comes near to deliver her husband from
the hand of the one who is striking him, and puts out her hand and
seizes his genitals, then you shall cut off her hand; you shall not
show pity."
Kill all Infidels
=================
Has
this been true?, well it hasn't been what Muslims have been doing for
the last 1000 years so I think it is safe to say that it has not been
true.
Is it true right now?, well there are Muslims killing
infidels today, there is no doubt that they see their faith as giving
them clemency for their actions but is their faith the motivation for
doing this? I think there are a lot of other more likely
candidates for that so I would still say it is not true.
Is it
going to be true in the future? Well I think that depends on us.
Why Anti-West
=============
Historically Muslims
have been persecuted by the Judea-Christian West, starting with the
Christian Crusades 700 years ago, Slavery and even today in
Israel-Palestine and in the economic slavery of Africa.
Is it
any surprise that they view the West as Imperialists with skepticism
and is it really that strange that they do not trust the west?
Is
it really all that surprising to find people burning American flags
in the streets of Tehran? Is it a surprise that foreign
governments used the hatred of the west to gain power, is it
surprising to find leaders, using religion as a tool to get power and
to control people? Our Christian leaders do it...
Why
Anti-Islam II?
==================
So why in the last few
years has the perceived threat of Islamic terrorism suddenly grown?
So why, aware of the hatred of the west, has there not been a
diplomatic initiative to work on the problem?
For decades
Muslims killed themselves attacking Israel and no one noticed. Then
9-11 got people's attention.
But why has religion been
attached to 9-11? Clearly 9-11 was not a religious act, it was
not aimed at killing infidels, it was a political act, aimed at
getting massive publicity (either for the plight of Muslims in the
Middle East and Africa or to get the American people to back a war on
Iraq).
I will assume that the CIA did not mastermind 9-11 and
assume that it was Al-Quaeda (even though the CIA makes more sense).
Has the threat of terrorism grown due to 9-11? NO
Has the
threat of terrorism grown due to military action in the Middle East?
YES
Killing 100,000+ Muslims in Iraq [reports mention
650,000+ as of April 07 – Ed] has not really made for good
relations.
Naming Iran as a country that the US didn't trust
and telling them that they were on a list [Axis of Evil - Ed] is not
really good for relations either. (Indeed it is the sort of thing
that would make them want to develop their nuclear industry, because
the possibility that they may have a nuke/weapon is
probably the
only thing that will keep America from invading them)
So back
to the question, why is it that Islam is getting the balme?
If
we look back at history, we have seen this before. Anti
Semitism was rife in the World in the early parts of the last
century. We tend to blame the Germans for the atrocities done, but
the reality is that Germany just went further than the rest.
Jews were blamed for everything, they were political scapegoats.
Anti-Semitism grew, nationalism grew and eventually there was a huge
pile of trouble.
I think that there are many parallels,
pointing to the Terrorist Muslim is a great way to deflect the public
attention away from you having invaded another sovereign nation
(remember Iraq has had nothing to do with 9-11 or terrorism)
terrorising the people of that country, killing numerous people,
"stealing" the oil and building your pipeline.
Anti-Islamicism and the "War on Terror" are cover
stories for the theft of oil to prop up the oil-dependant economy of
the richest nation on the
planet [personally I wonder about that definition given the budget
deficits and consumer debt - Ed].
What of the future?
===================
Islam is going to win!
Islam is not going to win by
killing people, it is going to win by creating a train wreck in our
economies. Oil is running out, but the oil rich Muslim nations, are
not worried about that, they are pumping the oil out as fast as they
can and selling it as cheap as they can, because when oil does run
out, their lands will be of no further interest to the West and there
will be no more threat of invasion, the Western economy will
collapse. They are actively promoting our dependance on oil so
that when the oil is gone, the oil-dependant west will collapse and
Islam can take over.
What is the solution?
=====================
We need to free ourselves from our
dependance on oil.
So that we have enough time to find
alternatives we need to artificially increase the cost of oil, so
that the sudden end of oil will not affect us as much.
We
need to recognise that the problems of the Middle East are not
religious in origin and we need to address that origin.
We
need to give the Palestinians their lands back, we need to enforce
the UN resolutions against Israel.
We need to restore a free
commercial market for oil in Iraq and tear up the oil agreements we
made with the government we installed there.
We need to stop
depressing the agricultural markets for African produce and allow
Africans to trade in the world markets on a level playing field.
We
need to give all people (including Muslims) a sense of hope, because
terrorism comes from a sense of hopelessness.
We need to stop
terrorising other countries with the threat of invasion.
We
need to stop terrorising people with our armed forces occupying their
countries, killing their people.
We need to replace war with
diplomacy, there has only ever been one successful outcome to a
terrorist threat. Northern Ireland. That end came about
because we acknowledged and took account of the genuine grievances
behind the terrorists actions, we gave in to each other, we both had
to make difficult compromises but we both won the peace.
