In the Garden

In the garden, in the summer heat
Do all things cling to the tree
The fellow plants and the leaves
The happy birds and the bees

Blue skies and sunshine bring me peace
As I feel the soft grass under my feet
And linger on the sidewalk, treading softly
With the daisies and bluebells as wide as the sea

Sunset is upon us, the sun is fading
The birds and flowers are falling asleep
Until the morrow, waiting for the morning
For another day of peace
